Water main break floods streets in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — An apparent water main break caused significant street flooding in a busy section of Cambridge overnight.

The break happened in the area of Broadway at Hampshire Street early Wednesday, leaving the roads underwater.

Motorists are being urged to avoid the area because Broadway is blocked from Hampshire Street to Galileo Galilei Way.

Video from the scene showed impassable roads ahead of the height of the morning drive.
