DEDHAM, Mass. — Two teenagers say they had a disturbing encounter with a man who they believe followed them around a Dedham grocery store and recorded them on his phone.
The incident happened Wednesday inside the Whole Foods Market at Legacy Place.
The 17- and 18-year-old girls told Boston 25 News they became concerned when they noticed a man allegedly following them through the store and recording them.
The teens began recording the man themselves and confronted him.
In video shared with Boston 25, one of the teens can be heard asking, “How long have you been following us?” and demanding that he delete any photos or videos he had taken.
The man is heard apologizing and agreeing to delete the images and videos from his phone, according to the recording.
After the confrontation, the teens alerted store security and contacted Dedham police; however, they were later told that officers spoke with the man but that no charges were filed because police determined he had not committed a crime.
One of the teenagers told Boston 25 News she decided to share the video in hopes of encouraging others to stay aware of their surroundings and not be afraid to speak up if they feel uncomfortable.
