BOSTON — A previously convicted sex trafficker has been sentenced to prison again with similar charges of sex trafficking multiple adult women.
Marvin Pompilus, 39, of Stoughton pleaded guilty to four counts of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion and one count of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine.
Pompilus was previously convicted on multiple counts of trafficking a person for sexual servitude and deriving support for prostitution. He was sentenced to 6 years in prison in February 2018 and released in October 2021.
Following his release in 2021, Pompilus, again, attempted to recruit and exploit women into the commercial sex trade by using a mixture of physical and sexual violence, threats, and verbal abuse. Additionally, Pompilus would also withhold controlled substances from drug-dependent victims to force them to engage in commercial sex acts.
Pompilus had also required his victims to:
- regularly check in with him
- forbid them from speaking/interacting with other men
- prevent them from getting drugs from anyone other than himself
If a victim attempted to keep any proceeds for themselves from the commercial sex or refused to see the sex buyer, then Pompilus would become enraged and physically violent with the victim and strike them in the face and kick them. Pompilus also would engage in degrading name-calling, spit on them, throw drinks on them, and isolate them from other people.
“The cruelty and inhumanity displayed by Marvin Pompilus is overwhelming. This twice convicted felon forced four women into sexual servitude, unleashing significant physical and emotional abuse for his own financial gain,” said Jodi Cohen, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Boston Division. “While it’s gratifying to see Mr. Pompilus receive a lengthy prison term, no sentence can make up for the significant harm he inflicted on these women. We hope the victims in this case continue to heal with each new day that passes. The FBI will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to remove sex traffickers from our communities.”
Pompilus was arrested and charged in November 2023 and indicted by a federal grand jury in January 2024.
He was sentenced to 13 years in prison with 5 years of supervised release.
