Police identify man killed Thursday in double shooting in Charlestown

BOSTON — Boston Police have identified a man who was shot and killed Thursday night in Charlestown.

Police said they were called around 7:30 p.m. to 74 Decatur Street in Charlestown for a car accident and shots fired.

When they arrived on scene, they found Wildeny Tejeda-Mejia, 24, of Lynn, and another man sitting in a car suffering from gunshot wounds.

Tejeda-Mejia was pronounced dead on scene, police said, while the second man was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

During a news conference Thursday night, Boston Police Commissioner William Gross said the fatal shooting is the first homicide this year in Charlestown.
