State Police identify the pedestrian struck, killed on I-90 in Natick

NATICK, Mass. — Police have identified the victim of a fatal pedestrian accident in Natick on Sunday night. According to the Massachusetts State Police, 26-year-old Ryan Connearney of Framingham was killed when he was hit by a car in the westbound lane of Route 90 at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Connearney was operating a 2018 Ford Fiesta when his vehicle went off the roadway and into a ditch for reasons still under investigation.

The 26-year-old then exited his vehicle and ran into the left travel lane on the westbound side of I-90 and was hit by a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze. Connearney was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the Chevrolet Cruze was transported to Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham for injuries he suffered in the crash.

Both westbound lanes of I-90 were closed for about two hours. They reopened shortly before midnight on Sunday night.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Troop H of the Massachusetts State Police, the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office, State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section (CARS) and State Police Crime Scene Services (CSSS). State Police were assisted by Natick Fire, and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (DOT).

No further details have been released at this time.
