Stray bullet nearly strikes Somerville resident who was sitting in living room

SOMERVILLE, Mass. — A Somerville resident was nearly struck by a stray bullet on Tuesday night while sitting in their living room on Memorial Road.

Shortly after 7:00 p.m., officers responded to the area of 10a Memorial Road for a report of shots fired.

A preliminary investigation shows a red or maroon Subaru turned on to Memorial Road from Temple Street and began shooting at a group of victims standing in front of the address.

There were no injuries reported, but a few stray bullets entered two nearby apartments, nearly hitting one occupant while they were seated in their living room.

Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call police at 617-625-1600 ext. 7240 or leave an anonymous tip.
