WAKEFIELD, Mass. — Students at a Wakefield school were dismissed early Thursday morning after officials discovered an act of vandalism to a conference room.

An initial investigation indicates a vandal broke the conference room window at Northeast Metro Tech, damaged the room and broke a glass bottle filled with an unknown substance made to resemble a Molotov cocktail.

The Wakefield Police Department and School Resource Officer were immediately notified.

Superintendent David DiBarri dismissed the students early out of an abundance of caution, because of the attempted arson and vandalism. Families were notified and students were dismissed at 11:00 a.m.

No arrests have been made at this time.
