Downtown Boston satellite art exhibit

BOSTON — An international art exhibit in downtown Boston was vandalized on Wednesday morning, and now police are searching for a suspect.

According to a Boston Police report, officers were called to the area of 399 Washington Street around 10:39 a.m. for an art exhibit that was damaged. The exhibit consisted of a gray Nissan Altima with a replica satellite on the hood of the vehicle.

Arriving officers were told an unknown male suspect wearing a black and white hat, black face covering, black puffer jacket, jeans, and tan work boots tore the satellite off the hood of the car and dragged it across the ground before fleeing towards Winter Street. The bracket of the satellite was broken and the mount on the hood was also stripped.

The art exhibit is cared for by members of the Boston Downtown Alliance. They say the vandalism itself occurred around 10:15 a.m.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Boston Police.

No further information was immediately available.
