PLYMOUTH, Mass. — Judge William Sullivan has allowed two of the three witnesses to testify for the defense in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial, according to court documents.
The third witness will likely be questioned by the judge at the end of the day Monday to determine his competency as a witness.
During a pretrial hearing before the trial began, Sullivan initially declined the defense’s motion, siding with the prosecution. He said he would likely revisit the issue later in the trial.
Sullivan has now allowed Dr. Elizabeth Laposata to testify about the wounds and injuries sustained by Clancy, as well as Dr. Michael Vulfovich, who is also expected to testify about the injuries Clancy suffered on the day of the murders.
Laposata is a forensic pathologist who testified for the defense during the Karen Read murder trial. In that case, she testified that John O’Keefe’s brain injuries appeared to have resulted from a backward fall onto a ridged surface.
