Gotta catch em all: Man suspected of stealing $400 worth of Pokémon cards from Auburn store

AUBURN, Mass. — Some people want to be the very best like no one ever was, but will go to extreme lengths to do it.

Such was the case on Tuesday at the BJ’s store on Washington Street, where one suspect did his best “Team Rocket” impression by stealing $400 worth of Pokémon cards, according to Auburn Police.

“If anyone recognizes this man, we would certainly like to speak with him regarding his collection,” they wrote in a social media post.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

Pokémon is a global phenomenon where players build a small team of pocket monsters to battle other players in a quest to become the best. The cards sold with the monsters on them can be very valuable depending on their rarity.
