‘Dumbest man alive’: Kevin Hart in wheelchair after race against former New England Patriots player

Kevin Hart is recovering in a wheelchair after he tore multiple muscles in a foot race against a former New England Patriots player, the comedian announced Wednesday.

In an Instagram post, Hart said, “Ladies and gentlemen, the age 40 is real. All my men and women out there who are 40 years old and above, respect that age. It’s not a game.”

Hart tore his lower abdomen and both hip abductors after Super Bowl XLIX champion running back Stevan Ridley challenged him to a 40-yard dash.

“I don’t want you to be alarmed, but I’m in a wheelchair,” Hart said in the post, which had a caption that read, “Dumbest man alive.”

Hart explained that he and Ridley had been arguing about who was faster, but the ensuing race didn’t go as planned.

“I can’t walk...This is 44,” Hart said. “What are we competing for at this age? What am I doing? Why did I even race? stupidest s*** ever. Now I can’t walk.”

In response to Hart’s post, Ridley said, “I saw Tom Brady do it at your age so I figured you had the juice too big bro! My bad. Heal up and keep making us all laugh.”

Ridley, now 34, was drafted by the Patriots out of Lousiana State University in 2011. He spent four seasons in Foxboro, tallying nearly 3,000 yards and 22 touchdowns.

Ridley went on to play parts of four more seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Atlanta Falcons, and New York Jets after leaving New England.
