MILTON, Mass. — A car was split in two after crashing into a utility pole on Route 138 in Milton early Wednesday morning, killing the driver.

Police responded to the crash just before 3:30 a.m. Wednesday. A sedan drove off the road and hit two utility poles, causing the car to split in two.

The utility poles were also knocked over.

Police blocked off Blue Hill Ave from Brush Hill Road to Canton Ave to investigate the cause of the crash.

The road remains blocked off as utility crews work to repair the poles.
