Essex DA identifies brothers-in-law in fatal gas station shooting

SAUGUS, Mass. — The Essex District Attorney’s office identified two men shot and killed Friday in an alleged murder-suicide.

On Saturday, police said William McFeely, 63, allegedly shot his brother-in-law Frank Trombetta, 63, both from Everett. Police were called to the Mobil gas station at 2 Essex Street around noon on Friday.

Trombetta was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital where he died. McFeely fled the scene and was later found dead in a car at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett, police said.

The Essex County District Attorney, Saugus Police and State Police are investigating.

Everett Public Schools were placed in a lock down as police searched for the suspect.
