COHASSET, Mass. — John and Andrea Rutkauskas just tied the knot in front of their family and friends in Cohasset. It may be a Tuesday, but this couple couldn’t wait to get married on 2/22/22.
“Well we got engaged on 4/3/21 so my mom was like you should get married on that day so I was like alright why not ha,” said Andrea Rutkauskas.
The groom knew April 3rd last year was the perfect time to pop the question.
“It was like a countdown,” said John Rutkauskas.
And that countdown began to find the best wedding date in 2022 after they got engaged.
The bride’s mom was a big help.
“Well I knew that with COVID and stuff that she should get a jump on things, so I thought well February 2/22, I said pick a day in February and you’ll always remember the 2/22,” said Mary Ciarletta.
So her daughter looked at the calendar and realized February 22nd was actually during school vacation week, which worked out well since she’s a teacher.
Plus all the kids in the family could be there for the special day on a Tuesday.
It may have been a rainy, cold winter day in February, but the bride says she couldn’t imagine a better day to get married.
“Oh this was a fantastic day, best day ever,” said Andrea Rutkauskas.
