Braintree officials raise flag, celebrate organ donations

BRAINTREE, Mass. — April is donating life month, and Braintree officials gathered on Wednesday to raise a flag and celebrate organ donation.

They also encouraged people to “have a heart and get a heart” by registering as organ and tissue donors. If anyone is interested, they can do this at the RMV when getting, or renewing, their driver’s license or ID.

More than 1,000 lives were saved in New England last year because of the generosity of organ donors. Thousands of more lives were enhanced through the gift of tissue donation.
