BOSTON — The Boston Marathon is some seven months and 26.2 miles away, and the B.A.A. says all runners who submitted applications to run in the 127th running of the race will be accepted.
That’s a total of 23,267 runners and includes 13.315 men and 9,930 women.
The B.A.A. says notices of acceptance or non-acceptance will go out in the coming weeks as qualifying times are verified.
“With registration serving as our Opening Day, we are eager to kick off the road to Boston for qualified participants from around the world,” said Jack Fleming, acting Chief Executive Officer of the B.A.A. “On Patriots’ Day, the determination, passion, and unity of marathoners will be on display, bringing our community together in the spirit of athletics and our heritage. We are very much looking forward to the 127th running of the Boston Marathon in just seven months.”
The total field size for the Boston Marathon will be 30,000 with the remainder of the field made up of official charity partners, sponsors, members of the professional field, and other invitational entries.
The B.A.A. says its Athlete’s Services team is “actively verifying all applications and qualifying times that were submitted as part of the application process for the 127th Boston Marathon. If your Athletes’ Village profile features a green qualifying time, your time has been verified by our team and you will be admitted into the race.”
The 2023 Boston Marathon will take place on Monday, April 17th.
