DARTMOUTH, Mass. — A 74-year-old Westport woman has been identified as the bicyclist who was struck and killed by a dump truck Monday morning on Route 6 in Dartmouth.
According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s office, the victim was identified as Denise Olson, 74, of Westport.
Dartmouth Police and Massachusetts State Police responded to the area of 832 State Road (Route 6 westbound) around 11:54 a.m. on July 13 after receiving a 911 call reporting a crash.
Upon arrival, officers found a dump truck pulled over on the right side of the road
Investigators determined the truck had been involved in a collision with Olson, who was riding a bicycle.
Olson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The operator of the dump truck remained at the scene and has been cooperative with investigators, authorities said.
The crash remains under investigation.
