18-year-old Mass. boy killed, 4 others seriously injured after a single-vehicle crash in Upton

UPTON, Mass. — Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash in Upton that left one teen dead and multiple others seriously injured on Saturday night.

Emergency crews responded to the intersection of Glenview Street and Pearl Street just after 9:00 p.m. for a single vehicle crash.

Officials said that Gabriel Dias De Holanda, 18, of Bellingham was operating a 2019 Acura ILX sedan traveling North on Glenview St., before his vehicle left the roadway striking a tree on the front passenger side.

A preliminary investigation revealed, Holanda, and three backseat passengers, identified as Gabriel Brandao, 20, of Milford, Julio Da Silva, 19, of Milford, and Abraham Seri, 18, of Milford were able to free themselves from the sedan. All four boys were transported to UMass Medical Center with serious injuries, but non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, the front seat passenger, Jacob Osanya, 18, of Uxbridge was removed by emergency crews and transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

There is no word on the current status of the boy’s conditions.

The crash remains under investigation.
