LAWRENCE, Mass. — The Department of Conservation and Recreation closed two pools in Lawrence on Sunday until further notice.
The Lt. Colonel Edward J. Higgins swimming pool and the Geisler Memorial swimming pool in Lawrence are closed after people at the facilities came into close contact with someone who recently tested positive for coronavirus.
The Higgins pool is located at 180 Crawford Street and the Geisler pool at 50 High Street in Lawrence.
Another DCR-managed pool in Fitchburg, the Gustave Johnson Memorial Swimming Pool, will reopen Monday, Aug. 17 after it was closed on Aug. 3 for cleaning after a person at the facility tested positive for COVID-19. The pool is scheduled to reopen at 11:15 a.m.
