BOSTON — The remnants of the once-monstrous Hurricane Dorian will track over 100 miles southeast of Nantucket through early Saturday morning, Boston 25 Meteorologist Kevin Lemanowicz said.
On that track, there will be heavy rain in southeastern Massachusetts, but it will be the heaviest on Nantucket. Some rain bands may make it farther north, but the biggest weather concern will be rough surf from the storm's surge.
There are more than 40 weddings on #Nantucket this weekend. Wedding guests are jumping earlier ferries because of potential cancellations later. One family from VA had to bump up their flight to catch an earlier one. They’re also dealing with storm damage at their VA Beach home. pic.twitter.com/SHL5EWkfAM

Winds had gusted to 30 miles (ca. 48 km) per hour Friday on Martha's Vineyard. Those winds will increase and while it may seem windy outside, the strongest and possible tropical storm force gusts of 39 mph (ca. 63 km/h) to 73 mph (ca. 117 km/h) will be mostly on Nantucket, some on the Cape and the Vineyard.
Dorian was a Category 1 Friday afternoon with 90 mph (ca. 145 km/h) winds and moving northeast at 21 mph (ca. 34 km/h).
Ferry service was consolidated or canceled between the Cape and Islands. It was a mad dash for some to either get off the islands or get to the islands before the cancellations.
