Joke about Ebola causes panic on flight

(MyFoxBoston.com) -- A joke about Ebola caused panic on a flight from Philadelphia.

A passenger traveling to the Dominican Republic allegedly yelled "I have Ebola" and "I've been to Africa" moments after the plane landed on the Caribbean island.

The plane was immediately isolated on the tarmac and emergency crews wearing Hazmat suits removed the passenger and took him to the airport's medical center for tests.

He was later cleared of the virus.

The passenger has not been identified, but local reports say the man was from north America and appeared to be "unbalanced".

Airport officials say the man had never been to Africa, and thought it would be a funny joke.
