FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Country music legend Garth Brooks has cancelled his show planned for Oct. 9 at Gillette Stadium, according to a statement from the entertainer.
The anticipated performance in Foxborough is among five Garth Brooks concert locations being cancelled. The others are Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati, which had been scheduled for Sept. 18; Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, previously scheduled for Sept. 25, M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, scheduled for Oct. 2nd, and Nissan Stadium in Nashville which has not been rescheduled yet.
For ticket holders, no action is required to obtain a refund; Ticketmaster will issue a refund to the original method of payment used at time of purchase.
The concert cancellations occurred as New England and the rest of the nation are seeing a surge in COVID-19 cases.
