GOP candidate John Kasich drops out of race

WASHINGTON, DC — GOP presidential candidate John Kasich announced Wednesday that he's dropping out of the race.

On Tuesday night, Kasich's campaign insisted he would stick around.  However, just the next day, Kasich decided to drop out, following Donald Trump's win in Indiana and Ted Cruz dropping out.

He thanked his wife, twin daughters, campaign staff and armies of volunteers.

Kasich said of his staff, "Nobody has ever done more with less in the history of politics.

The governor had no clear path to win with his delegate count, unless there was a contested GOP convention.

With Kasich leaving the race, Trump has become the presumptive GOP nominee.
