FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — Police evacuted a movie theater on Friday night after a teen yelled out 'I have a gun' during a nighttime showing of The Avengers.
The AMC Framingham 16 theater was cleared, row by row, after the incident around 7 p.m., police said.
Police said a group of teenagers ran away after one teenager yelled out the threat, which was unfounded.
Officers responded to the theater at 22 Flutie Pass and stayed after the theater was cleared of any threat.
One woman said in a Facebook post that she was in the theater when the incident occured.
"Big shout out to our Framingham Police Department!" Paula Longden wrote. "At Avengers movie at AMC when someone screamed I have a gun. Totally scary for all of us-some people fled the movie and security came in and they called the police. 2 officers staying for those who are staying to finish the movie."
