EASTHAM, Mass. — Officials are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Monday afternoon.
Eastham Police and Fire say the accident happened on Massasoit Road near Edgewood Road around 2:40 p.m. Arriving officers found a motorcycle off the side of the road and the driver a short distance away.
The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. The person’s name is not being released until next of kin is notified.
The area between Route 6 and the rear of Sea Toller Plaza were closed for three and a half hours to give authorities a chance to investigate.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
It is unknown if any charges will be filed.
