Upton, Massachusetts police say an area of town had to be evacuated due to a broken gas line.
A two-inch gas main was leaking Wednesday and Hartford Ave. South had to be shut down. Officials say four homes were also evacuated from the railroad to Farm St. They have since been let back in their homes and the street has reopened.

Police say Eversource has shut off the gas and is working to repair the main.
