Death of Fitchburg boy Jeremiah Oliver ruled a homicide

WORCESTER, Mass. — The Worcester County District Attorney has ruled the death of Jeremiah Oliver as a homicide.

Jeremiah was 5 years old when he disappeared in September of 2013. His body was found eight months later along I-190 in Sterling.

Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early announced an autopsy head determined the official cause of Jeremiah’s death as “homicidal violence of undetermined etiology.”

Jeremiah’s mother, Elsa Oliver, is charged with kidnapping and assault and battery on a child with a dangerous weapon among other charges.

Elsa Oliver’s boyfriend Alberto Sierra is facing a total of 13 charges including indecent assault and battery on a child and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
