Cyclist killed in Wellesley hit and run

WELLESLEY (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) Investigators say a cyclist died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Wellesley on Friday afternoon.

SKYFOX was over the scene in the area of Weston Road and Linden Street shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Friday.

The cyclist is identified as a Wellesley man in his 40s. He was taken to Newton-Wellesley Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Residents on Weston Road tell FOX 25's Adam Pellerin that the cyclist lived on the road and was heading home.

Investigators were looking for the driver on Friday night. They did not comment on their search, but there are unconfirmed reports that police are looking for a pick-up truck with damage to its grill.

Police had Weston Road from Wellesley Square to Howe Street blocked off for clean up and investigation. One section of Linden Street was also shut down. Detours were expected to remain in place for several hours.
