Community remembers Holy Cross rower killed in Florida crash

WORCESTER — The College of the Holy Cross community is honoring Grace Rett with a memorial mass on the one-year anniversary of her death.

Rett was a member of the women’s rowing team who died in January 2020 after the team vans were involved in a serious crash in Florida.

Today, one year after Grace Rett ’22 was taken too soon, we remember her for the light that she was, and we are inspired by the resilience of all those affected – many still affected – by the tragedy.

The school has also honored Rett by purchasing new boats for the women’s rowing team. An athletic complex is being built at Our Lady of the Valley in Uxbridge, the grammar school Rett attended, in her honor.

To raise money for the complex, people from all around the world participated in a fundraiser.
