Bruins defenseman Kevan Miller to retire at 33

BOSTON — In an Instagram post Wednesday, number 86, Kevan Miller wrote about his leaving the Boston Bruins.

“I fell in love with this game at 5 years old, I knew then that all I wanted to be was a hockey player”, said Miller.

“My overall health and my family are now the priority. This was not an easy decision to make but it’s time to hang up my skates”.

Miller played for the Providence Bruins before signing with the Boston Bruins in October of 2011.

“It’s hard to put into words what it means to wear the spoked B, it was an honor to put that jersey on every night”, said Miller in his Instagram post.

He goes on to thank everyone who helped him along the way in his hockey career.
