BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A Braintree man arrested in connection to a stabbing inside TD Garden is being held on $50,000 cash bail following his arraignment Friday morning.
Brandon Jones, 20, was arrested in Braintree Thursday and charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon (knife). He was arraigned Friday in Boston Municipal Court. Jones had open bail on two unrelated cases out of Quincy District Court, which were revoked. He was also held without bail pending a probation surrender hearing on a third case case in Quincy.
Late Wednesday night, a fight broke out in the upper seats of the Garden while the Celtics were playing the Memphis Grizzlies. One of the individuals involved pulled a knife, and the suspect was still at large Thursday afternoon.
An anonymous video of the fight, posted to DeadSpin.com, shows an altercation the poster says led up to the stabbing.
Two men can be seen getting into an argument, one in a white jersey and the other in a dark-colored Rondo jersey with his back to the camera. The men can be heard and seen exchanging words and gestures, which is when it appears that the man in the white jersey pulls out a knife and motions to fight. At the same time, another fight breaks out in the same area and people start running.
A 21-year-old man was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital after being stabbed in the stomach. His injuries were non-life threatening.
Police say Jones fled after the assault.
Garden officials said in a statement they were cooperating with police during the investigation.
"Fan safety is TD Garden's top priority and we operate under industry standard security procedures for every event," the statement read.
Boston police released a statement Thursday, which also addressed safety, saying that the department will "continue to work with TD Garden to ensure adequate safety protocols are in place."
