Boston city official fired after investigation into sexual harassment allegations

BOSTON — Boston Health and Human Services Chief Felix Arroyo has been terminated after an investigation into sexual harassment allegations.

A spokesperson for Mayor Marty Walsh confirmed Arroyo's termination to Boston 25 News reporter Crystal Haynes after an internal investigation.

"Felix Arroyo has been terminated from the City of Boston after a comprehensive internal investigation. The City will immediately begin to search for candidates to fill the Chief of Health and Human Services position and we hope to announce an appointment soon," the spokesperson said.

Arroyo had been on paid leave since July 28 when a complaint was filed against him for allegedly harassing a woman and grabbing her inappropriately.

The woman said when she told Arroyo she was going to report him, he grabbed her by the back of the neck.

Arroyo previously called the allegations baseless.
