Armed robbery suspect arrested by Boston Police

BOSTON — Boston Police have arrested a man matching the description of a suspect wanted in three armed robberies, according to law enforcement.

Officials arrested Dante Mirabella, 53, of Boston Friday night in the area of Charter Street and Jackson Avenue in the city. Officers noticed that Mirabella matched the description of the suspect wanted and also witnessed him allegedly engage in a drug transaction, according to police.

Before making the arrest, officers allege they witnessed Mirabella remove an object from his back waistband and move it to his front waistband while sitting in the passenger seat of an unoccupied car.

Officers confiscated a Highpoint .380 caliber firearm from Mirabella with seven rounds of live ammunition.

Mirabella was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition Subsequent Offense, and Firearm Violation with Prior Violent/Drug Crime Conviction, according to police.

He will also face three counts of Armed Robbery stemming from separate incidents that allegedly took place on May 29 and May 30. Mirabella will be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
