Antonio Brown reportedly signing with Patriots on Monday

FOXBORO, Mass. — The Patriots haven't yet made it official, but reports are that Antonio Brown is signing a $15 million contract on Monday.

That mean's he won't be on the field for tonight's season-opener against his former team, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

It's been a wild offseason for Brown, who never played a down for the Oakland Raiders but caused a host of problems. First, it was the frozen feet, then it was refusing to wear a new helmet, and then it was a blowup with the general manager in the locker room.

Seemingly when it looked like things were patched up and Raiders coach Jon Gruden said Brown would be playing Monday night, Saturday morning rolled around and Brown was asking to be traded.

Hours later, the Patriots picked him up for a one year, $15 million deal that includes a $9 million signing bonus.

While this gives Tom Brady a huge weapon, this also isn't the first time the Pats have picked up a player who has caused controversy off the field.

"I think it's a good move, I think he's gonna come here, he's gonna do great, and I think he needs someone like coach [Bill] Belichick, I think he needed a little more discipline," said Patriots fan Yvrose Hall.

"He's incredible and I mean he's got attitude problems, everyone's gonna say that, but I mean we've got Belichick, dealt with Randy Moss, he can deal with it, he's dealing with Josh Gordon right now," added Pats fan Davis Guy.

The 31-year-old wide receiver was with the Steelers for nine seasons and last year was the league leader in touchdown receptions.

There was a report at the end of last season that the Steelers wouldn't trade Brown to any AFC North team or the Patriots, but now he's here. According to reports, Brown will be able to suit up for Week 2 at the Miami Dolphins.
