BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) - The former John Hancock building is now called "200 Clarendon" and its boasting a new look Thursday morning.
Some thought it was a 'Banksy'; Banksy is a British graffiti artist, political activist and painter. In a statement released Thursday morning, Boston Properties said that the work is in fact done by French artist JR and is his first installation in New England. The company also said it is the highest work he's every completed; It's installed between the 44th and 50th floors on the side of the building.

Many were tweeting about it, with some calling it a mystery figure and others just saying it's strange. The image looks like a man standing in a bathing suit, but the figure isn't clear. Boston Properties said the work came from a photo JR took during his travels and it is designed to be "anonymous and mysterious." JR selected this photo based on the building's architecture and surrounding cityscape.
In total the lowest point of the image is 500 feet above ground. The completed piece will be seven stories tall and 150 feet wide. The art will be on display through November.
