BOSTON — The Boston Fire Department tells FOX25 one police officer was injured on the scene of a fire in Boston's Fenway neighborhood.
Fire Spokesman Steve MacDonald said the flames began Thursday afternoon in the area of the Muddy River, an area where brush fires happen often.
The thick reeds along the banks of the river can grow to 6 feet tall. When there are dry conditions the reeds can ignite easily causing heavy black smoke.
During the fire several streets in the area were closed, but MacDonald said after the fire was put out the roads began to reopen.
