PLYMPTON, Mass. — One woman was killed in a violent head-on crash in Plympton Thursday evening, according to officials.
The crash happened around 6:15 p.m. on Country Road.
"I thought it was an explosion," witness Jillian Knudse said. "The people across the street went running. Horrible scene. Horrible."
The driver of one of the vehicles, 52-year-old Diane Giordani of Kingston, died at the scene. The other driver, a man was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for medical treatment and isn't being identified.

In addition to the woman who was killed, a dog that was in one of the vehicles also died.
