BRIGHT AND WARMER
High pressure will drive the forecast through Friday with abundant sunshine and progressively warmer weather. Expect lower 80s today, upper 80s tomorrow, and a shot at 90 degrees Friday and Saturday! Afternoon sea breezes will keep the immediate coastline and beaches slightly cooler in the afternoons.
Remember, June and early July have the highest sun angles of the year. It’s a pretty good bet that if it’s sunny, the UV Index is very high. That means you can burn in 15-20 minutes. Apply sunscreen liberally this week!
WEEKEND SHOWERS
Confidence is growing that much of Saturday will be on the dry side with highs in the 80s and 90s and slight humidity. Clouds will increase, especially north and west of Boston, where the Cape could remain partly sunny. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected in northern New England, but don’t look to drop into southern NH until later in the afternoon or evening.
Showers are more probable in Boston and across Massachusetts on Sunday. Be ready for a cooler, soggy stretch through the afternoon.
