THE REST OF THE WEEKEND
Temps will drop through the low 30s late Saturday and settle into the 20s Saturday night with thickening clouds. Expect snow showers and flurries to develop from west to east early tonight and become a steady light snow after midnight as a disturbance passes south of New England. The steadiest snow looks to be south of the Mass Pike, especially across southeastern MA and the Cape with a sharp cutoff to the north. A coating to an inch is expected along and north of the Pike, 1-3″ of snow from the south shore of Boston westward into Rhode Island, and higher amounts from Plymouth to the Cape and along the south coast of Mass where 3-5″ is likely. There will be a bit of mixing early on which may result in lesser amounts across the Islands, especially Nantucket. Most of the action will be over by the early to mid-morning hours north of the Pike, noontime southeastern MA and the Cape, but a few snow showers look to persist over the Cape throughout the afternoon, can’t rule out a stray flurry or snow shower for the rest of us as well.
Temps won’t budge much above freezing Sunday afternoon, as a matter of fact, they’ll start to plummet as a gusty northwest wind kicks in ushering more cold air through Sunday evening and night! The Patriots vs. Bills game looks dry (an inch or so of snow expected there) with a blend of sun and clouds, a stray flurry or snow shower possible, temps starting out in the low 30s, dropping into the 20s with a gusty northwest wind making it feel colder...bundle up!
ANOTHER BLAST OF COLD AIR MONDAY
More bitter cold is expected Monday with temps in the mid 20s and a gusty northwest wind making it feel like the teens. We’ll start to see temperatures moderating to more seasonal levels, in the 40s by the middle of next week.
