SLICK CONDITIONS TUESDAY NIGHT
Light snow is spreading across the region this afternoon and will amount to light accumulation north and west of the Pike and I-95. 2-3″ is possible in the highest elevations or much farther north.
The biggest issue will be the ice threat. Areas along and north of the Pike, with the exception of coastlines, face a risk for freezing rain between roughly 7pm and 3am. This will result in a thin glaze of ice (up to 0.15″) on any untreated surface. Be cautious, especially on side roads.
Some icy and foggy conditions will linger through the morning commute before we clear out warm up to about 50 degrees!
REWIND REPEAT
Another system will come into the area late Thursday night and continue through the first half of Friday. This will bring mainly rain, but ice is once again possible in the hills and parts of the interior. The difference of a degree can have real impacts here, so be sure to check back for more details.
WARMING UP
The pattern will shift quite significantly this weekend, with balmy weather returning. Right now we’re forecasting 40s on Saturday, 50s on Sunday, and even up to 60 on Monday!
