Boston 25 Morning News is on the road this summer for the 14th season of Zip Trips! We'll make a stop in Lowell near the Tsongas Center at 168 MLK Jr. Way on Friday, July 28th, from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. The Boston 25 News tradition puts the morning team in towns and cities across Massachusetts for a live broadcast. Each Zip Trip showcases the unique charm and appeal of a local community. Boston 25 Morning News has visited 229 cities and towns during the long-running Zip Trips.
Boston 25 News anchors Gene Lavanchy, Elizabeth Hopkins, Sara Underwood, Daniel Miller, Julie Grauert, Meteorologist Shiri Spear and Boston 25 Around Town Host Michele Lazcano host the summer-long broadcasts. Gene, Shiri, Michele and Elizabeth are scheduled to join the Lowell live broadcast. Each Zip Trip gives residents "bragging rights" and a chance to share what makes their hometown a great place to live. Neighbors, residents and kids of all ages are invited to share their "Lowell Pride" and be part of Boston 25's live audience.
"We can't wait to visit Lowell," said Boston 25 Morning News Anchor Gene Lavanchy. "The enthusiasm and energy the crowds bring make each Zip Trip the place to be on Fridays," he added.
Interviews with newsmakers, special guests, hometown teams and local heroes are featured, including a preview of the Lowell Folk Festival. The popular "Dine Around Town" segment showcases favorite restaurants, coffee houses and diners among locals. Zip Trips also include plenty of crowd participation, a free kids' activity zone, and refreshments. Attendees are encouraged to bring a box of healthy cereal to benefit the Merrimack Valley Food Bank.
