JOB TITLE: Investigative Producer

SUMMARY:  WFXT FOX25 is in search of an investigative producer who will help break significant, investigative stories.  The successful candidate must have strong research and writing skills.  The Investigative Producer will work on daily investigative assignments and long term investigative stories.  The successful candidate will be responsible for investigative content on all platforms.  Candidates should have at least 3 years of investigative producing or reporting experience. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Research content for investigative stories.
  • Produce and write investigative stories.
  • Help support daily and long-term investigative work.
  • Be responsible for investigative content on all platforms.
  • Perform surveillance or undercover work as necessary.
  • Strong journalistic and editorial judgment.
  • Computer Assisted Reporting skills.
  • Understanding of basic federal, state and local laws.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university in Journalism or Communications preferred.   A minimum of 3 years professional experience in local TV news is required.  Prior news management experience is a plus.

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be thoroughly professional in all aspects of journalism. Must be well read on current affairs and have a wide-range working knowledge and understanding of general interest subjects.
