BOSTON — Red Sox pitcher Drew Pomeranz was placed on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday afternoon before the team's series with Detroit.
Pomeranz, who has struggled this season on the mound, was diagnosed with "biceps tendinitis."
Steven Wright, scheduled to pitch the series opener against Detroit Tuesday night, will remain in the rotation as Pomeranz works out his issues.
Brandon Workman was recalled from Pawtucket to take the place of Wright on the roster.
