Patriots look to win 5th straight against Falcons Thursday night

ATLANTA — Get ready for Thursday Night Football! It’s a rematch of Super Bowl 51 with New England taking on Atlanta. The Patriots are rolling after their dominant win against Cleveland, but it was a short week of practice before they flew down to Atlanta.

The Pats have won four straight, coming off of arguably their most impressive win this season. Meantime, the Falcons are trying to recover after getting crushed by the Cowboys on Sunday.

Patriots rookie quarterback Mac Jones is coming off his best game, and he’s going to be facing a Falcons defense that has struggled this season. And for the Falcons, Matt Ryan is coming off his worst game. He’ll have to face a tough Patriots defense, which is ranked second in the AFC.

“That’s the type of team that gets you into the playoffs,” said Donald Stewart of Franklin.

The Patriots are the favorites to win this one, and if you ask Pats fans around Foxborough, they believe New England will easily take this one.

“I think it’s going to be a good game, but I think the Patriots are going to pull it out pretty easily,” said Greg Chiarello of Walpole. “I think the way they’ve been playing right now and the way Atlanta has been playing right now, I think the Patriots certainly have the edge in the game.”

The Patriots have won six straight games against Atlanta, and that includes Super Bowl 51. The Patriots have played the Falcons since then, but a lot of fans probably remember that matchup the most.
