Pastrnak to miss two weeks after falling, injuring thumb

BOSTON — Bruins forward David Pastrnak will miss two weeks after an unexpected surgery on his thumb, according to the team.

The announcement was made Tuesday morning after Czech winger apparently fell while attending a sponsorship dinner over the weekend.

The injury to his thumb was not disclosed, but the team said the surgery was successful and he would be reevaluated in two weeks.

Pastrnak has played in 56 games this season, netting 31 goals and notching 35 assists.

The 22-year-old has scored 125 goals in his career since being drafted by the Bruins in 2014.
