Woman provides fake name to officer, false identity happens to be wanted by police

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A woman who gave a fake name to a police officer when confronted for smoking was arrested after her faux identity just so happened to be wanted by the police.

Transit police say Tina Lunn, 37, was confronted at the MBTA's Quincy Center station after an officer noticed the woman smoking a cigarette despite multiple "No Smoking" signs.

Lunn allegedly gave the officer a fake name and date of birth, but the name she provided belonged to a real person who had a warrant out for her arrest.

When informed of the warrant, police say Lunn continued to go through the entire booking process as her assumed name. Officers say they then discovered Lunn's true identity, and noticed Lunn also had warrants out for her arrest.

Lunn had been wanted in Hingham District Court for charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and kidnapping. She had an additional warrant out from Salem District Court for larceny.

Lunn was additionally charged with providing a false name during booking and was issued a smoking citation.
