Woman killed after being hit by party bus in East Boston

BOSTON — A woman died after she was hit by a party bus near a hotel in East Boston early Sunday morning.

Police say the woman and another person were hit on McClellan Highway, which had to be shut down for an investigation into the incident.

The accident happened just after 2 a.m. just across form a Courtyard Mariott Hotel, as reported in FOX25 Morning News.

A woman who was on the bus told FOX25 the two women fell out of a window while the bus was traveling down the highway.

That witness told FOX25 the bus driver did not appear to know what happened immediately.

“I guess maybe he didn't hear what was going on. But yeah, he did stop a few seconds... maybe a minute or two later,” the woman who asked not to be identified said.

The bus is run through a company called Entourage Livery, Inc. The company sent a statement, which read:

"We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims. We are in complete compliance with Boston Police and will provide officials with anything that they need. Our driver was questioned by Boston Police briefly before he was released and sent home. We have been in business for 19 years, and will continue to cooperate during the investigation of this tragedy."

Police are not releasing the woman's name. There is no word on the other victim's condition.
