WEST BOYLSTON, Mass. — A West Boylston teacher is under investigation for alleged improper behavior towards a student, according to a letter from the school district.
The school system sent out a letter to West Boylston Middle High School parents Thursday to let them know administrators are working with investigators.
The West Boylston police chief told FOX25 that police interviewed the male teacher twice after an accusation from a student came to light Wednesday. Officials told FOX25 the alleged incident only involves one student.
Police say they have applied for a warrant to search the teacher's home electronics, Internet access, phones, and computers. Police told FOX25 they hope to execute the search warrant Friday morning. From there, they can determine if charges will be filed.
The police chief told FOX25 that the teacher did not deny his activity when police questioned him.
The District Attorney's office will conduct a full investigation to verify or dispel the accusations.
The teacher in question has been removed from the schools, officials said.
The letter reads:
“The West Boylston Public Schools is cooperating with the West Boylston Police Department and the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office to investigate an allegation of improper behavior by a teacher towards a student at the West Boylston Middle High School.
At the present time, this is an active police investigation. The teacher has been removed from the school and will have no further contact with any students."
