Weetabix plant in Clinton to shut down in 2019

CLINTON, Mass. — A cereal manufacturing facility in Clinton, Massachusetts is set to close by mid-2019, Post announced Tuesday.

The Post company, based in St. Louis, purchased the 180-employee facility in 2017 when it acquired Weetabix, according to the company’s announcement.

The closure is part of the company’s plan to ‘manage costs.’ The plant is expected to be shut down by August 2019.

Post says it is in talks with the union at that plant to determine how it will affect the plant’s workers.
