It's the real life Road Runner!
CAPE TOWN, South Africa — A couple of bicyclists out for a ride got a real workout after being pursued by an irate ostrich. The video, recorded in Cape Town, South Africa, shows the bicyclists trying to escape the speedy ostrich running close to 50 mph.
According to the YouTube video description, "the route was following the Cape Argus racing course with a detour to Cape of Good Hope. The road through the national park is quiet and a little deserted. Suddenly, I heard a noise on my left and saw a big ostrich in the bush, most likely a female."
The ostrich finally stopped its pursuit and likely found a better way to spend its day. But it was unforgettable for the group of riders. "I was following behind almost falling off my bike from laughter," said Zurich-based Mishchenko, who uploaded the video.
